Will four of us be comfortable driving to Chatel with bikes etc inside an Espace?
It will be a hire car so Probably no outside rack option.

I'd take a rack and get a couple of bikes on the outside, personally, then you might get 4 in, maybe 5
In my Espace I regularly have 3 bikes (fully assembled) and 4 seats. The other 3 seats live in the shed because the Espace is my mobile bike shed. 🙂
Four bikes would fit, but the room taken up by the 4th seat means that it would be better to take the front wheel off a couple of bikes.
Basically tons of room if you leave the extra seats behind.
