Just changed my front wheel from a Pro2 to a Bontrager and now my floating hope rotor is clipping the Fox post mount. What are my options? Change to a standard rotor or is there some way of spacing it away a little?
Would an XT Ice Tech rotor work?
I had the same problem with a floating rotor and a set of 09 140m floats. I found a small ( Probs 1mm ) metal spacer and put it on my skewer between the hub and the fork leg. Hope this helps
I had the exact same issue, Fox 36 + Pro2 + floating rotor, no problems. Changed the wheel for a Mavic Crossmax ST & had the rotor 'spider' clipping the post mounts. So bought a Shimano standard rotor & problem sorted.
I've since changed the fork for a Revelation RLT, & the same issue crops up on that fork too.
I have a chris king hub with 15mm fox and hope floating rotors, they did catch, but only just. I filed a small amount off the lower mount, problem solved
Sorry, got to ask but...
Disc on the right way round? There are small recesses for the bolt heads and it does make a difference.
Running 36's and floaters with a post mount, Mavic St's, no problem.
Just double checked and it is the right way round sadly - that would have been a great fix!
Easiest option is a new rotor or to take a file to the offending area of fork - it's only about 6mm long so that might be the best bet.
Have plans to get that frame and fork powdercoated anyway so no major issue.
