I have bled a good few brakes over the years but I can't bleed the front SLX brake I recently bought for my Bike. I shortened the hose and it's never been quite right since.I have tried all the usual tricks but the best I can get is a very feeble stopping power worse than the 1st pair of Deore discs I had 10 years ago. Any suggestions gratefully received.
whats causing the difficulty mate? i've got them and they've always been a piece of piss to bleed.
how are you going about bleeding them?
Usual tube from nipple to Container of fluid, Squeeze lever , open nipple -close nipple , gently release lever. Hardly any bubbles coming through but no improvement in braking.
Syringe and some tubing try bleeding bottom up. If they aren't bleeding maybe something else wrong? Mine had a bent a bent and fluid coudlnt return quick enough and it felt like they needed bled.
Yep that's where you're going wrong then. You need to bleed UP only, push fluid up to the reservoir in the lever.
I'll give it a go! Cheers.
and give everything a good tap to loosen any trapped air bubbles
