Hi
I've got a frame that takes a 130mm fork with EC headset now I have a nice pair of Revs but they are 150mm can I run a zs headset to make it similar to running a ec 130mm fork?
Hope that makes sense!!
Cheers
I'm still fairly new to headset standards but I think you need to check the frame head tube inner diameter and the fork steerer.
If your head tube isn't big enough to allow the ZS cups that can accommodate your forks steerer then no. If it is I'd expect you probably can.
This is a useful guide...
No*. The headtube determines the headset.
*the exception is 44mm headtubes which can run an external cup for 1.5" forks and an internal one for 1.1/8".
What year are the Rev's? The air shafts are about the same price or cheaper than a headset.
If your frame was designed around an external bottom cup, and you fit an internal instead, you are likely to smash your downtube with the fork crown, or the adjusters on top of it.
Wow didn't think it was that much of a minefield - the frame is a Corsair Marque all I know is its 44mm.... I think
The Revs are a straight steerer think 2014
44 with straight steerer, yes but check fork downtube clearance at 90°, or if the 130 fork is already in the frame, see if there's over 1cm clearance.
You could also, if there fork / downtube interference, fit a headset with a lock limiter - Acros does one - which will physically stop the fork rotating beyond a certain point.
Looking at pics of the frame, it seems to have a curve on the downtube, so might work just fine anyway.
