Cant choose between a few ones:
Dainese raptor 180€
Bell Drop off or giro remdey 139€
Fox rampage 117€.

Obviously the more expensive the lighter. And I have tried them all. In terms of fit it's all the same. The dainese is very tempting (expect the price) as it's very light and comes from a very reputable brand. The fox looks nice but is a bit heavier (and cheaper)...

Argggggggg choices choices... Anyone has some experiences with the above helmet...

NO I DO NOT WANT ANY OTHER HELMETS...

Simple.

All other things being equal, pick the prettiest.

I used to have a bell, though an older model. Got it as for the money it was laminated fibreglass shell compared to the (weaker) polycarbonate of other lids at the same price.

If fit's all the same, lighter is better as it's more comfy, and will be less of a force on your neck in a bad stack. Also take into account how easily you can get spare peaks. Cos if you wear it much at all you will need a new one sooner or later when you faceplant hard!

Oh, and out of that list I'd get the Dainese if I had the cash, or the Giro as a second. (FWIW I wear troy lees nowadays as they fit my head best, and I'm not gonna skimp on protecting my head! Did sting a bit to have to replace a 3 week old TLD when I had a massive stack at fort bill though. But then it kept my head intact, so can't complain!)

I've got a Giro Remedy (Carbon) which is both light and comfortable, I've also tested the crash replacement programme and that worked well too.

When I did have an accident the Remedy was excellent if I hadn't been wearing it I would have had some quite serious facial injuries but it did it's job 100%.

I've got a Drop (and so does solamanda on here)

Always liked Bell helmets- not too pricy and a good weight. Used for a eight weeks in Morzine..

Well I know they are officially all as good (CEN test and all). I just can't get around my head to trust bell or fox...

Why not?

Dainese don't have a reputation for making helmets, they make armour (at least in the cycling world!)

I got a giro remedy carbon and found it heavy and bulky; I genuinely did, although I had already made my mind up that I'd bought the wrong helmet and I needed a TLD D2 carbon. That does feel so good compared to any others I've ever tried so I wouldn't recommend anything else. Ahhh back in the day when money was easy to come by...

Get an mx helmet, my fox v3 carbon is lighter (and cheaper) than my troy lee d2 composite and a lot better made (plus a spare peak and decent bag).
Don't think i'd trust a d2 carbon, maybe a d3 but they're heavier and £200 more expensive than my fox v3!

juan, not for mtb. The Raptor is the only one I've ever known, and its not big in the UK.

Suspect that Dainese are slightly bigger in the motorbike world though..

Troy Lee or THE.
Both look awesome and if you look in Dirt mag there are adverts for Troy Lee composites about £150 - 200ish think at Dartmoor Cycles.
THE are £149 new i think for composite.

Well just buy the one that fits your head the best, simple as that.

Dianese mtb helmets definitely not common in the uk at all, i tried one on in alpe d'huez the other year tho, very light...
