[#13535871]

So we have done plenty of rides in the lakes over the years on bikes without motors and often carried/pushed them up some unrideable stuff.

Rather than me list all the routes we've ridden, please recommend us some interesting rides that won't mean shouldering a 25kg Levo. Obviously don't mind a bit of pushing to unlock a good descent, don't mind tech but wouldn't ever ride anything like Rossett Gill for example.

Don't care if its legit or not, we know how to be polite and always find the higher you go, the less people care.

Obvious one would be the Borrowdale Bash.

Alternatively:

Hartsop > Loadpot hill > Hard left at the Cockpit > Howtown > Martindale and then around the edge of the Lake and back to Hartsop.

I've ridden both and no hike-a-bike involved.

Walna scar loop is e-bike friendly, as is a full loop of coniston inc grizedale stuff.

Garburn pass loop and back of staveley stuff is e-bike friendly.

Did the full the passes which is mostly ok, but a bit of a trek/push/carry up to nan bield from haweswater, but it is manageable. Not sure how the shortcut over harter is with an e-bike.

Helvellyn from Genridding. Up Whitesides and down Sticks was a great ride on the Eeeb. Was only about 10 feet unrideable at the top of Lower man the way up and I chickened out of one stream crossing on the descent of Sticks.

Then the Ullswater singletrack coming back over the pass to Patterdale. Very technical along the shoreline and the last part of the climb up to Boredale Hause was a rocky push. The drop back to the cafe at Side Farm was also a killer having been cobbled all the way down!

Thank you one all, I'll add those to our list of choices 🙂

Our 3 day plan so far is checking out Chapel on the way up and exploring Grizedales cheeky bits for a day but also fancy a proper ride.

We are staying around the Spark Bridge/Ulverston area.

From Spark Bridge, something around Walna/Duddon would be best. I don't know how long you want, or your battery lasts, but this is a real mix, with some great janky descents and really nice singletrack. Couple of great pubs too. And almost fully legit/non-cheeky:

Black Combe is probably fun with a motor too.

I made a mistake plotting it - after you descend Walna Scar and turn right near Torver Bridge, you want the BW further east on the other side Torver Beck - round the east side of the big quarry with pool. Then cross the bridge back onto my plotted route to the climbing hut.

Pubs - Newfield Inn, Duddon and Wilson Arms, Torver.

Thank you. We were just reminiscing about a section of your route that we rode on the Jennride after crossing under Walna Scar, on our way to the pub for tea, then up Parkamoor to camp. Crossing that fell felt like an eternity as I was desperate for a poo and wanted to hold on for the pubs toilet!
