as above really.. no rhyme or reason to it whatsoever.. just starts up squealing with no prior warning. stops for a second or two.. starts again.. stops for a few minutes.. can happen coasting.. on or off the brakes.. pedalling hard.. uphill.. downhill..

like I said... random
any ideas please it's starting to make me a little tense..

if it happens and you've not just braked intentionally then soemthing is moving, the hub might be a bit 'loose' on it's bearings, for instance.

Maybe the fork legs are twisting under load?

buckled rotor?

Also could be wheel out of true, broken/loose spoke?

Dirt behind one of the pads maybe. Had this problem myself and it led to death threats on group rides. I feel your pain.

Are the disc mounts faced? My inbred squealed like hell until they were.

You're not using Kaesae's bearings are you?

One of the pistons could be sticky and not going back in.

Take wheels off.
Take pads out.
Push pistons fully in.
Refit pads wheel.
Squeeze hard several times to center brakes.
If it continues check wheel cones/bearings.
Have mounts faced.
