Tracker - i too am a teacher (secondary school and Assistant head of year) - have to be in work by 8 and the "commute" would be 1 hr 10 ish. Just not sure if its manageable on top of a 8-9hr stint on my feet 🙁

12 minutes on a Sunday when there is no traffic... too scary with so many blind drivers on the road during a normal rush hour weekday.

It's not unknown for me to commute and do a 14hr hr shift, you normally enjoy the ride home, it's the getting back up at 5.30 in the morning that's a killer! If so ride 3 times, you'll feel the benefit.

40 minutes or so depending on the wind and how deep the mud is. Actually usually the longest when the weathers nice and I take a few detours.

AV Technician

Everyday I'm in the office all year round. I'll be working in Berlin Munich and Hong Kong in the next month so they are all probably a bit far for the bike.

<10mins by most direct route but usually take a 30 - 45 min off road loop in order to get my head straight before commencing battle for the day.

7.42 miles 🙂 about 25 mins each way
I'm a weighbridge clerk in a quarry
I try and do it 3 times a week, with one day off, and the other day I go for an evening ride. Rather weather dependant though, I don't like getting to work soaked to the skin at 7am, sorry.
In the summer, Fridays is usually a longer offroad ride home though.

Just under an hour each way

Mechanical Design Engineer

Drive car in on a monday morning, leave it in the car park, bike the rest of the week and drive home on a friday evening. I need a car available at work for site visits, so it sits in the car park all week and is my effectively my locker with all my kit in.

Hour each way on the road bike. Wouldn't like to try it on my MTB it would take an age.

Factory Manager

Don't do it at the moment because it it too dark to ride down the country lanes at 5am. Will be doing it twice a week in the summer.

15-20 minutes each way, but that's after an hour drive (I do the park and ride thing) - reduces in the summer as I'm more likely in london going to appointments etc (where I ride a folder instead of tubing it)

hoping to extend the ride home in the evenings once it gets a bit lighter. need to get some road miles in before summer.

I run 'Tax Free Cycle' a Cycle to Work scheme for CycleSurgery.
