I have just changed the bottom bracket on my Saracen Mantra and fitted a 118mm cartridge as opposed to the original 119mm. I now have chain rub in the low gears. I have adjusted the limiter screws and cable tension but still no joy. Can any body help?
I'd be amazed if a 1mm difference in axle length made any difference to the gear setup. It certainly didn't when I used to throw whatever bottom bracket I had at the bike.
Did you change or adjust anything else?
Yes, I replaced the chain recently... the front derailieur looks a little out of line....the chain only rubs in one place and only uphill. I can't get my head round it.
When you replaced the chain did you remove enough links?
What is the chain rubbing on?
