Thinking of doing the Cambrian Way but turn back from maybe around Staylittle area to save the hassle of getting back to the start

does anyone have a circular route along these lines? I think the Bagman Cambrian gravel challenge does something similar

thanks

Kind of. You could go through the forest above Staylittle to Trefeglwys, then Llandinam + ride up to the large windfarm, cross it and ride the Kerry Ridgeway, then road/track/offroad South to Newcastle, then Knighton.

Don't know if its any help, because it does involve a train journey...... but here goes anyway.

A while back I did the trans Cambrian, camped at Llangurig, rode out to the end, then back to the campsite where I had left all my camping kit. Slept there again then set off south using a mixture of small roads and offroad. I think the route went something like Cymystwych, Ffair rhos, Strata Florida abbey, night outside the bothy in Moel Prysgau, then somehow down the Doethe valley to end up near Cynghordy station for the train direct to Knighton.
