Folding
What do you use?
What about the door lock step?
Have generic plastic folding steps for home, use them.
Folding stool to get bikes on top of Volvo SUV. Lock step isn’t stable enough when lifting a bike.
I just open the sliding side door and stand on that.
SAMMV.
Little Macalister three tread step as seen lurking in the boot. Sometimes I’ll strap it to the bike rack if the boot is truly full.

Depends how high you mean and what you're trying to get up there. For getting paddle boards and kayaks onto our mid roof Ducato I've got a surveyors extending ladder.
Hop ups have revolutionised DIY for me. If I was still putting things on a tall roof rack, that's what I would go for.
In a slightly unhelpful style - Roofrack alternative!

That looks handy
That won't work as it's a sliding door
These are all the rage in the horse mounting world. You are never out of sight of one at showgrounds, I've never seen one break and they fold easily. The only negative is the bar on the back is not designed as a step so it's one sided.
I think we own three (facepalm emoji). One in the horse trailer, one at the yard and one floater that is currently at home for washing the windows.
