Been out this morning and had a blast - felt fine on the climbs, in fact I was surprised at how little 20mm seemed to affect things on the ups. On the downs though it was great, the slight increase in steering speed made it much more responsive. Loved it!! 🙂
Only problem was I noticed on some rocky sections that the fork wasn't tight on the headset and there was a little play. Checked it out and the bolt was tight, tried it again and the same - had a good look and it turns out the stem is 0.5mm (roughly) too short and I needed a 1mm spacer in to properly lock the headset together. Had to cut short the ride just as I was really enjoying it and come home - carefully by road 🙁 All sorted now and looking forward to seeing how it rides next time I get out.
Mboy - you OK if I keep hold of the Stem until roughly the middle of next next week (19th)?
