Won't somebody think of the valve/logo alignment!
😉
i'd be upset if my bike looked like that but there was no rear suspension!
🙂 - it's a beaut, tbf.
nice. big forks though. i have pikes on mine. and i would line the valves up on my own bike but is it really worth commenting on? 🙄
Will people please stop tricking me into looking at those Evils its pure filth
PHWOAR.
Looks killa with those forks and big rotors. Mmmm.
Phwwwaohh
can anyone comment on what they're like for climbing?
they do look great for a bit of light DH.........cracking bike 😀
If you get the seatpost right up, they are pretty good for climbing. I have a singlespeed one as my only bike and its effective as an XC bike, DH bike and BMX, amongst other things.
GET ONE.
I suppose someones got to say it, the fence needs a paint 😉
Like the build, great looking bike. I would love one of them, if only they made them in man sizes!
its crying out for some nice big flat pedals!
F.I.T.
love those - bet its crackin fun
Looking forward to the weekend and seeing it in the flesh Skiboy. Nice.
That looks very, very nice.

weight ?, does it matter when it spends most it's time in the air?
Awesome!!
Burls you relise they do an xl with something like a 24.5inch tt i'm 6ft 4 and thats what i'm going for!
Very nice. Lining tyres and valves up is just utter pish. Leave them as they are.
tidy piece of kit. agree with Nutt. SPDs look out of place on a bike like that.
No money left for creosote then 😉
Nice,
always happens to me - new bike build then rough as a badgers a**e.
Don't be ashamed aabout the cost, you earnt the moneey and can spend it how you like
Very very nice. My kinda bike.
Very Nice, looks like a hell of alot of fun! Jealous!
Enjoy it!
they climb great, even with a 160mm fork. i ran my lyriks at full travel all the time on mine and it gets up allsorts, even with just a 34t front and 11-32 rear. got up snowdon pretty sharpish the other week!
pedals are personal choice of course but if you are ever thinking of giving flatties a go then thats the bike to try it on.
i think you will kill those tyres in no seconds flat. i was running 2.4 ardents on mine which are a few hundred grams heavier than small block 8's. even tubeless i was pinching tears in the tyres at 30psi through the rocks. had to MTFU and go for dual plys which made it absolutely bombproof on the down and gave me proper man thighs on the climbs!
got to admit, the wheels were my first time away from xc717 tube type things, the kendas came folded, several attempts at inflating them left me slighlty less than worried were the logos where 😕
i like SPD's personally, i have 3 other bikes with eggbeaters on which iv'e ridden for around 8-9 yrs i think, i find them instinctive to get in and out of,
Candy sl's to me feel like huge DX's after so long on spindles, getting the back end sliding around at the weekend while clipped in felt excellent,
i find no reason to go for any other pedal personally, if i want a foot down i'll just flick it out and shove it down and click it back in as i power out the corner 😀
the creosote ain't going on as the whole bloody fence is coming down, all 150 feet of it, and a wall is going up when i've saved up the cost of the bricks,
might as well add the bike cost me £3400 put together, i brought a box of parts every week for around 3 months, the last part came two weeks ago, so i had no big outlay up front or at the end to pay off, just paid as i went along,
the forks came from progressive-bikes on this forum and i got a whopping £260 off the list price, that was the best deal i got,
overall i'm happy, i was going to buy a lappy zesty originally but i'm so glad i changed my mind and built yet another hardtail, this one sits in the shed next to my much loved cotic soul, my rockhopper, my badboy ss and an ageing giant nrs29 (my only bouncer) 😯
cheers for the pointers slowrider, i had my first run on it sunday last,
we live a few miles from brickhill/woburn/aspley call it what you will- and on sunday i think the lads where having laugh with me, we usually do plenty of climbs but on sunday we seemed to be doing them all, a couple of times i had to quit and push even while using the front saddle thumbs and elbows under the bar method, 😯
it was really steep though so it didn't bother me, all the normal climbs i've been doing on my 140 soul where no problem, just a little bouncy off the roots, but i didn't fail to get to the top, on the first climb i was first to the top, just, closely followed by a litespeed HT, a blue pig, a soul, a blizzrd, a trek HT, a spesh bouncer and some geezer on a shopping bike 😯
