Looking at doing it early September, B+B/Bivvy, looks good. Dunno how to get back to the beginning though!
Anyone?
Some stuff in here
http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/road-route-ideas-in-the-jura-north-of-geneva
And I might have some more info when I get back!
I spotted a load of trails up on the Jura in March from the plane window
There was a fair bit of snow but definatly loads of ST and fireroad .
The plane did a few laps in a holding pattern and it looked really good from the air.
Happy to help with specific questions. We know it quite well from à cross country point of view. Mrs Mugsys Dad has done the gtj in 24hrs on skis. Think I responded to the thread linked above.
Dan.
If you pay postage to from france and promise to return it. I have the mtb guide for the gtj with stage profiles, maps, places to stay etc. In french.
Mugsy that sounds great, think I've seen that on the tourist info website. Is it worth a trip? I'd be looking at doing it in September, maybe bivying out, travelling light, maybe even only doing the first few days? The other problem is as I say, getting back to the beginning when we've completed it. I'd be doing it with my other half, we can happily do some big miles in a day.
And it's the VTT version we're looking at! (I speak the lingo......)
