Met a mate on his new 5 on it's maiden voyage - blimey it's a chunky beast! Looks more like an alpine nutter bike. Bloody gorgeous and green envy was order of the day

Not a fan of the different tube profiles....but I believe I would have one if it was given to me.

pretty sure it was a 5 pro - it was neon orange with a white swingarm and it looked frickn ace. I'm the first to join in and say previous 5's aint been the prettiest, but the tapered headtube and overall chunkiness, combined with the split colourway made it look so bloody good. Not sure I'd drop 3 grand on one though....

I've ridden one at Glentress and can confirm it were **** ace! Felt a lot more hardcore/freeridey than I was expecting, jumped well and wasn't too shabby on the ups. If they weren't so chuffin expensive for what they are (and didn't come with hope brakes) I'd have one

(Blue is the quickest and looks lovely in the flesh)

I test rode one (well two actually, 16" & 18") at Afan yesterday and it was lush. I had my heart (and wallet!) set on a heckler but tried the 5 and it just seemed a lot more solid and fun to ride. Even felt better on the climbs but I don't know how much of that was due to the shonky build on the heckler.

Hmmm, £1400 for a frame is a LOT though. 🙁

Anyone seen the multi-coloured one at Llandegla? rims, frame, swingarm and pedals all diffenrent neon colours. A bit OTT for me though...

Are orange ever planning to build a good looking bike with aswing arm thats doesn't resemble somethiing the victorians built?

I know they are good bikes just sick of the how ugly they look.

well thats the way they look, so nowt you can do to change it mr Dirtynap... 😉
yep last year i had to pay an extra 100 quid for my apple green... its hard to make a choice when you look at the colour swatches, you just see a small area of the colour so its hard to try and think what the bike will look like in the flesh...

yep blue is nice colour chris with white rims 😉 ...or you could go 'all orange' with orange' rims ? lol maybe abit over the top...

So, here's a thought - don't buy one.
