Have been having a search and can’t find anything in the UK for 2 up mtb racing like Cape Epic/Glacier 360? Where you ride together as a team rather than in relay? If anyone knows of anything then isn’t love to hear about it.
Unfortunately things like Trans Wales and The Bearded man event all fell by the wayside. From what I can gather it’s a combo of the cost of running it and therefore the cost to entrants, and the UK laws making it illegal to race in bridal ways so you have to join up the timed sections with long transition stages which aren’t timed unless you can organise the event all on private land. Which feeds back into the cost and therefore people thinking Im not dropping a grand to ride two 15 min stages with a 30k Bridle way ride in between a day for five days.
Which is sad really as we have the riding and trails to make something amazing in the UK.
Mountain bike orienteering often has the option of riding in a pair.
Algarve Bike Challenge, Mitas Four Islands, also look at Costa Brava Bike Race, Swiss Epic,and further afield Pisgah Stage Race, Trans Sylvania Epic MTB Race, BC Bike Race, Quebec Singletrack Experience.
There's Enduro2 in the alps, which is easier to get to than scotland for the most part 😀
