Hello
I have 2 days in chamonix tomorrow and Thursday this week. Weather looks good so will be taking a bike.
Any good trails? 3-4hr loop? Or will it all still be covered in snow?

It was pretty snowy last week - not quite down to the town but you could ski down to argentiere, which is about 150m higher.
I don't know the riding around there but saw lots of folk in town on mtbs so reckon you'd be ok.
You might like to ask in Zero-G (shop) I suspect it's too early to take bikes on most of the lifts. In Verbier (close by) they where riding 10 days ago in Spring like conditions but there has been a decent snowfall since.
There is a resort level loop in the Chamonix bike book of about that length buts it's an xc ride really, one of those that seems to have more climbing than descending. It takes in the "petit balcon"
maybe look to ride the Petit Balcons Nord and Sud to stay low. Plenty of rooty descents and climbs.
Then come back in the summer!
Phenominal riding to be had under the Brevent lift, and I think it's south facing so should be relatively dry low down. It certainly was before the recent snow. I suspect you'll struggle to get a bike on the lift, and there will (hopefully!) still be snow at the top of the lift. Having said that, I saw a few bikes at the lift station in Verbier two weeks ago ๐
Thanks all - petit balcons look good. It's a fieldtrip reccie so need to fit this in around wandering up to a glacier.

Thanks for the tips - had to ride up and down the Chatel valley on one day scoping out sites for a rivers study day but rode the North and South petit balcons. South was a lot more enjoyable as it was considerably less snowy! Got nearly to Argentiere on the North but cut down to the road due to snow. When it started looking like I'd be heading across a piste I changed direction...
