Having accidentally sold both my 150mm hard tail and bigger full suss to family members I'm in the market for a new bike! I still have my Spur so am looking for something to compliment that at the trail/enduro end of the scale. Thinking 150/160mm full suss but would maybe go to 170mm.
I know it's been asked before but obviously different deals pop up all the time so has anyone seen any uber bargains about? Needs to be XL and looking between around 2.5 to 5k. I've seen both the Scott and GT deals that are about and am a huge Orange fan but happy to consider anything else.
Sentinal? Would need some proper brakes putting on it though.

Had thought I'd get something other than Transition due to having the Spur but that one looks nice and the Spur is ace so.....
Megatower?
https://www.biketart.com/products/santa-cruz-megatower-carbon-c-2024?variant=42631556858035
Yeah, Megatower is on the list but also seen the same spec Hightower for £3999. Not sure which I'd prefer?
Actually, the Hightower is the ASX GX version. Thanks for the link btw.
Just to echo the Airdrop Edit MX
Their outlet has the demo bikes for sale, only got S1 and S3 left now and they have one of each in stock.
The spec is pretty good for the money.
This is where my money would go (and nearly did, had to remind myself I'm more of a 130/140 "trail" bike rider than an Enduro rider) if I was in the market for a 150/160 travel bike right now...
I actually ended up buying a Raze Carbon R instead, which is their 130mm travel trail bike, but I think I'd have been incredibly happy with either.
Looks decent does that Mondraker but isn't the rrp insane?
For example, the Hightower I'm looking at has GX ASX and better finishing kit for a few hundred more rrp or the Scott Genius with GX ASX and similar everything else is £500 less rrp?
The mega is a right pig and the Hightower is more suited for the UK unless youre hauling the mill id leave the mega alone .

Im looking to sell XL the Nukeproof mega 275 i got in the CRC sale.
Hell of a build by anyones standards.
Currently I've got it set as a mullet, with a new 160mm lyrik select. wheels are pro5, t4v4 brakes, GX drivetrain.
Alternatively I can sell it to you in full 27.5 mode(pro5) but with a new fox 36 factory(tiny price adjustment)
All parts I got new, so effectively its a new bike, though of course no frame guarantee.
Needs finishing, by which I mean the brake hoses need connected, the dropper(fox performance elite needs the cable run in, so 95% done
£2k(my total cost to build), though its a pick up from Glasgow
I worked out, even getting the frame at the sale price and hunting down all those components in regular shops/etc it would set you back £2800 - im just amazing at finding bargains.
Health denotes I am not going to ever be riding this, so i wouldnt mind getting my outlay back
Thanks for the offer Dyna but one of the reasons I sold my HT was the 27.5 bubble has well and truly burst so I sold while it still had some vale and I wouldn't buy another. I also haven't had a completely new proper mountain bike for nearly 10 years without building myself and cutting a few corners so this time I just want to get one off the shelf.
Orange has a sale on
The mega is a right pig
Sure it's a big bike, it's not going to climb as well as a short travel FS, but it's not a bad climber and absolutely rips coming down.
It ain't no pig.

Slightly bizarre comment, mega climbs perfectly well as a 170/160mm bikes, certainly on par with most other bikes in that category
My mega was built light for the xl . carbon wheels, bars, xo groupset and airshock and still came in close to 38lb with 38s . Yes down hill it was good but ive ridden better since that climbs much better and believe me moves much quicker down .
I would say my v1 mega was a better all round bike than the v2 .. shame it died and had to be warrented .
Since you like Orange - Assume you are only looking at a full bike but if you ant to build one to your own spec the Switch Mk1 Frames on the Orange site for £825 are a hell of a starting point!
145mm/160mm - https://www.orangebikes.com/shop/factory/new/mk1_switch_6_frame_in_various_sizes
I've just swapped my big bike to an Orbea Rallon, which I got lightly used for an amazing price.
Worth considering one of those anyway. Not quite as progressive geometry as Orange - but it's light, pedals really well and the ride feel and the way the suspension tracks is beautiful.
Or that mk1 Switch 6 frame is a brilliant option. I think that'll be the other FS bike that I end up keeping.
As the question was about bargains... If your after an enduro pauls cycles are doing the GT Force at half price.
Yeah, seen the Switch and was tempted but it's a bit too close to my current Stage 5. I actually bought a Stage 6 Evo frame with the intention of building it out of the parts I have between the 5 and my Pace HT but then my Nephew asked if I had any bikes to sell and I ended up selling both to him and his Dad which means I'll be moving the 6 on also! 🙄
So, I'm taking the clear out as an opportunity to get a bigger bike to go with the Spur. Orange wise I'd be looking at the Stage 6 if the weird box wasn't on it or the Switch/Stage 7.
Initially looking for bargains as an option but if nothing floats my boat I'll just get a lower spec bike at RRP.

Seen them and was quite tempted.
Those Privateer 161s are on sale right now. Seems like a lot of bike for just over £2.5k and designed by Stevie Wonder, no less!
Looks decent does that Mondraker but isn't the rrp insane?
I know what you're saying about the rrp... But I'd ignore that, and just focus on the price now. Mondraker are a bit boutique anyway I'd say, maybe not to the level that Yeti is, but they've always tended to price themselves on the "reassuringly expensive" side I'd say... At the discounted price it represents pretty damned good VFM I'd say, even if the brakes and the fork damper want upgrading.
The Raze Carbon R I just picked up was a similar RRP, scored it for an even bigger bargain thankfully...

It's a lovely bike indeed, but the rrp on it was more than my (similarly specced, and the same brand) eBike which staggered me!
Properly, properly nice bit of kit this for £2600!
Properly, properly nice bit of kit this for £2600!
Certainly good VFM! I assume it's related to the Scott Genius, using the same shock tune and Syncros bits?
Yes, Bold is to Scott, as Lexus is to Toyota.
Generally this generation of Bold previews the next gen of Scott.
My experiences with Bold Linkin well documented on here.
Bump for any new deals out there?
Yeah, keep going back to the various Genius deals but just not sure? Missed the sweet spot XL's at around £2500/3000.
Very cheap* ex demo evil on biketart
https://www.biketart.com/products/evil-offering-custom
*relatively speaking of course, still £3.5k for a bike
Saracen Ariel 60. Bargain and brilliant suspension and decent geo.
https://www.saracen.co.uk/collections/ariel-60-elite
That is a lot of bike for the money tbf. My first mob was an 89 Tufftrax.
All of those Saracens are really cheap. Keep looking at the yellow 130
Yeah iv been looking at the 130 as a well. It's a LOT of bike for the money that. Other than the superboost which isnt that big a deal, the stack heights are a bit low and the sizing is nuts. But still tempted.
The Saracens have been really appealing for a while the frameset is really well priced and even includes a fee DT350 hub to get over that hurdle.
Canyon have bargain Spectrals only in XL at the minute. If there'd been mediums available I'd have maybe got one:
Spectral CF 8 CLLCTV | CANYON GB
Blimey, that Canyon is a stonking deal - and they do seem to be very well regarded.
Thanks for that, defo worth considering.
