Carry almost any bottle securely, and free it with one tiny click with the Elite Struka Microadjust bottle cage. The anti-wobble cage that isn’t picky about bottle width.

Pros

  • Carries a huge range of bottle widths
  • Very secure yet not hard to remove bottles
  • Lightweight and neat

Cons

  • Wouldn’t work well on the underside of your downtube
  • I imagine a multiday muddy adventure may challenge the mechanism

The cage features a Fitgo mechanism, a ‘micrometric adjustment system’ (don’t say Boa). The Fitgo mechanism works by turning the knob at the front to tighten/release the steel retention wire. Clockwise tightens the wire, and a nudge anti-clockwise releases it, which is a very easy motion to make whilst riding as opposed to having to pull the knob forward.

The best thing about this is the capacity it can retain, as there’s so much variety in bottle sizes and sometimes you just need to buy a 1.5 litre bottle of Coke and mount it to your bike. The made-in-Italy fibre-reinforced resin cage holds 65-80mm diameter bottles.

There’s a good range for fitment to the bike, and I have mounted mine low on the frame to allow for bigger bottles to fit. It’s on my seat tube as my second bottle currently, but even in that slightly more awkward place it’s super easy to grab the bottle.

I’ve put my rain jacket in this cage, simply rolled up into its hood, and my insulated jacket fits so perfectly that I’m considering getting a waterproof stuff-sack for it.

The bottles I have previously had rattle out of cages for being too small all work in this, and the ones that are a tight squeeze in a regular cage also fit without being a struggle to get out. Funnily enough, Elite makes a 750ml bottle that is too narrow for a standard Elite cage – this really irritated me, but now I can actually use it.

There’s no reason you couldn’t use it to carry a large tool roll, basically anything that fits will stay secure in there.

I’ve Struka gold with this find

Overall

If you have an obscene amount of water bottles that vary in size by a few millimetres, you like to sometimes take a flask, or have been known to buy an emergency bottle of wine mid-ride, you would get on great with the Elite Struka Microadjust bottle cage. It offers a fast and very secure fit for a huge range of bottles.

    Seems great. Reasonable price, too.

If you’re going to use it like in that first image you really need to pair it with the headset bottle opener!

I like the Blackburn Outpost for this kind of malarkey.
