For 2017, the bicycle ergonomics specialists at Ergon continue their march toward touch point perfection with a new grip material and insole collaboration.  The flash Factory edition orange grips shown above are made from a new-to-the brand extra-pure rubber compound borrowed from (of all places) the knife industry.  Along with adding comfort when dry, the translucent material is especially grippy with wet- be it with water or the sort of fluids knives typically encounter.  GE1 and GD1 profiles will each see the upgrade.

Less visible but (for many of us) no less important are supportive insoles.  Ergon has paired with foot support specialists Solestar to create the cycling-specific IP3.  Said to support the foot in order to improve both comfort and power transfer, the IP3 takes its structure from nylon, which should last considerably longer than the foam that some companies rely on.  The foot is given a stable and supportive base with critical contact areas at the ball of the big and small toes as well as the inside of the heel.  Six sizes will be offered to suit most feet.
