Vaaru was at the London Bike Show, glowing from our review of the Switch in Issue 103 of Our Glorious Tome – which was also on display:
Yes, this is the very bike we reviewed, fact fans – although I’m pretty sure it was slightly cleaner than that when we sent it back. It’s a piece of Ti trail bike loveliness which costs £1,699 (frame only) – Vaaru also do full builds.
But there was a bunch of other stuff of interest to mountain bikers on the Vaaru stand:This brand-spanking new Ti stem looked extremely pretty. It’s cast in 3Al 2.5V Titanium, and it’s available in 90, 100 and 110mm lengths. Roadies can also get their hands on a 120mm in they want, too. It costs a Ti-tastic £260.
There’s a Ti seatpost, which is available at the moment in 31.6 and 27.2 sizes right now (30.9 will be available to order) for £169.99, and the thing that made us most excited in the Vaaru stand was……this prototype cast Ti fork, to complete the none-more-Ti look of your Ti stemmed, seatposted and framed machine. There will be some minor changes to the finished version. This one comes with a QR axle; the plan is for a 15mm bolt-thru axle instead, and the brake mounts will be slightly refined. Estimated price is around the £500 mark, and the weight will be sub 800g. Pretty.
