Joe Barnes and crew return for another full-length (well, 12 minutes) episode of the Dudes of Hazzard. And this time they’re in Japan, exploring. Thanks to some very local tip-offs, they manage to find some great riding spots all over the small and crowded island. There’s a lot of slidey action on wet trails, some bamboo jungles and a lot of pot noodles.
The boys managed to economise on accommodation by renting a three berth camper van and mostly lived on pot noodles. We have no reports how explosive the atmosphere was in the cramped cabin.
And, so we hope these photos haven’t put you off. Grab a spare 12 minutes, sit back and relax. Here it is!
With 23 years as Editor of Singletrack World Magazine, Chipps is the longest-running mountain bike magazine editor in the world. He started in the bike trade in 1990 and became a full time mountain bike journalist at the start of 1994. Over the last 30 years as a bike writer and photographer, he has seen mountain bike culture flourish, strengthen and diversify and bike technology go from rigid steel frames to fully suspended carbon fibre (and sometimes back to rigid steel as well.)
Love it. Good work boys.
Cracking video! WIsh i could do that “whip it round tight turns” thing like Joe seems to do!
I love these superslick productions. Three blokes riding bikes and driving about in a terrible van. Lovely.
