GT 25th Anniversary Zaskar

GT is celebrating 25 years of the GT Zaskar. The original model is the only bike in history to have won World Championships (and World Cups) in cross country, downhill, slalom and trials disciplines.

A familiar silhouette…

The Anniversary Zaskar even gets its own mini-website http://www.gtbicycles.com/gbr_en/zaskar

internal routing

Triple Triangle. Keepin’ it old skool

Pikes. Yes please.

One of the most famous Zaskar riders on the planet, Hans ‘No Way’ Rey was there to show his love for the bike that helped him Switzerland Squeak his way into the public eye all those years ago. Only now it’s lighter, as tough and comes with a dropper post as standard.

Hans will be in the UK this December. Watch those trails for him.

GT Sensor

The GT Sensor carbon was launched in 2013 and has now been brought up to date. The bike used to share its back end with the beefier GT Force, but the Sensor now gets its own, slimmed down back end to help shave 180g off the frame weight. The bike is a 140 forked, 130mm fun trail/fun machine and comes in carbon and alloy versions.

POW!
Slimmer and lighter. Wouldn’t we all like some of that?

And there are even colour-coded decals on the shock.

And we can truthfully (for a change) say ‘And now, here’s the fully murdered-out version’ below. (Though would black stanchions have been more, er, murdery?)

Nun more black

Colour coded decals again on the rear shock.

Low COG

GT Sanction

And here’s Hans again with GT’s Enduro machine, the Sanction. As raced by Dan Atherton, among others. There is a new Sanction Pro model coming out, which is intended to be a race-ready privateer enduro race bike.

Hans loves a bit of British Racing Green.

Green and yellow. Ace.

GT Force

And finally, nestling against the hot-tub is the GT Force Expert. 160/150mm of all mountain, big mountain bike.

The X force be with you

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
