R-Dog – The man who can’t ride in a straight line.

by 5

This just came in from SRAM and we thought it was too good to keep hold of. See R-Dog (Ryan Howard) on his home trails in Santa Cruz. The guy can’t ride in a straight line to save his life.

You might be surprised to know that the rider who has become synonymous with stylish whips made his first-ever trip to Whistler to play hockey. That’s right, recent winner of the Oceana Whip-Off Championships at Crankworx Rotorua, Ryan Howard, wasn’t always the master of two wheels we now know as “R-Dog.” Lucky for us, though, R-Dog found mountain bikes, the Aptos Post Office jumps (RIP) and the incredible trails of Santa Cruz County, California. Just try to be uninspired by this edit of R-Dog shredding a bit of his home loam.

    That’s a Motor bike surely…..

How come he has so much time to think when he’s in the air? If I get six inches off the ground, all my concentration is on how many bones I’m going to break if I land on that rock or clip that branch or catapult off that root!

Like bawl I worry about bike and me getting damaged when airborne. Shame he was dragging the brakes to get some of those rooster tails on the combo turns. Deliberate trail damage is not cool. (Being able to see the rear tyre tread pattern stationary at a couple of points drifting requires a moving tyre).

sorry Bwakel autocorrect loused up your username.

I’d like to think I ride like that

    ….

but it wouldn’t be true 🙁

    The guy’s a genius.
