And now the week draws steadily away
The weekend is beginning: here’s the rain.
So pin your ears back – listen when I say
CHEER UP! It’s Fresh Goods Friday once again!
Kona Process 111
This lovely slice of purple landed in the office for our upcoming test on short-travel 29er long and low gnarbikes.
Our XL test bike has a whopping 26″ top tube, and an unsurprising 111mm of rear travel…
…with 120mm of Pikeyness up front.
Lots of linkages help keep the chainstays supershort, which means there’s no room for a front mech. Not a problem, as…
..it runs a SRAM 1×11 groupset.
It comes with a press-fit BB and some super-burly looking pivots and stays.

…storage pockets with ‘built in media ports’ (or holes for your headphones to stick through, to you and me).

Shiny (for now) carbon mudguard loveliness to keep your horribly gurning face pristine while you hurtle of inadvisable things.
Price: £45.50 (prices vary depending on the size).

That’s it! It’s rainy and horrible out there, so we’re going to strap on all the waterproof stuff we’ve got, and head out into the murk. Stay safe, and see you next week!

It would be great to see a Transition Smuggler in that short, long, low 29er test…
HamC: They’re not available yet, sadly.
Hurrah club ride has arrived in the UK.
Barney: Windwave have some Smugglers… They have one at the Cycle Show at the NEC…
They do indeed, rhayter (we have a stand there) – but they’re not listed on their website yet, and even if they were available to test, it’s too late for this grouptest 🙂
We will be getting one in to test though eventually, rest assured…
A future Grinder bike, then!
“The weekend is beginning: here’s the rain.”
Not here in Cornwall (Porthtowan), very hot and sunny, and the surf’s not bad either. 🙂
