Ragley stir it up with the new Marley – EXCLUSIVE

by 3

Ragley are hoping to generate some positive vibrations with the release of the new Marley, and we’ve got one in to test!

Marley 1
We’re jammin’…

Bumped up to 27.5 wheels shod with burly WTB Vigilante and Trail Boss tyres, the Marley is a trail munching hardtail, with rather an impressive spec for the money.

The previous model was based on the steel Piglet frame; the 2015 bike gets its own aluminium frame designed for 130 – 150mm forks, with nice slack angles, a low bottom bracket, a VERY fetching paintjob and a pricetag of £899.

Upfront, a Manitou Minute Comp is on bouncy duties, and the bike comes with tidy Formula/WTB wheels, a mix of Deore and FSA drivetrain, and Shimano brakes.

Could it be loved? Look out for a review in issue 92’s ‘Fun for £850’ bike test, out in September…

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
