Patent-pending titanium flask integrates funnel

Funnel eases filling, saving precious drops

Waste not, want not
Waste not, want not

Built of pure, “top-grade” titanium, Vargo’s new Funnel Flask integrates a silicone funnel into its neck, ensuring easing filling and ensuring that not a drop goes astray.  Funnels are nothing new, but the issue with traditional flasks – according to Vargo – is that the accompanying funnel is too easily misplaced, forcing an awkward and wasteful filling process once lost.

Unless removed for cleaning, Vargo’s integrated funnel stays with the flask and can simply be flipped up for filling, down in use.  While “impossible to misplace” may be a stretch, having a permanent on-flask home should make Vargo’s funnel much easier to keep track of.

Vargo notes that titanium “is inert and biocompatible, meaning it will not leach chemicals or add odors to the beverage, and it contains nothing harmful to the human body, making it a very safe container from which to drink.”  Ti also makes the flask a lightweight 105g- which is as important to cyclists as it is to hikers.  Capacity is a generous 235ml.

The Titanium Funnel Flask is available directly from Vargo for $75 (£45).

What about dirt/bacteria on the outside of the funnel which will then be washed into your flask or back into your bottle? Especially caught in the gap between the funnel and flask. Wouldn’t bother me tbh but it might some and is a bit of a flaw.

andyl, wouldn’t it all be sterilised by the contents of the flask, as long as it isn’t Ribena anyway…

I was thinking that but I suppose you could get biofilms etc if you are a bit lapse with your cleaning. Particularly in the crevice between the funnel and neck. Seems like a good price for a titanium flask though. Definitely a material I would prefer to use for a such an item.
