Up The Buttress: Prize News!

by 0

News just in from Up The Buttress hill climb organiser, Bill Brady…

The big change this year is that the Police and Council have allowed us to start an Elite class at Up the Buttress, from the packhorse bridge in Hebden.  The Under 18s (mixed) will start from the 2011 start line [after the steepest bit] as will the Have-a-go Heroes (over 18 male and female). Due to the nature of the Elite climb [ie. HARD], it’s an all or nothing category. There’s only one step on the podium; one true King/Queen of the Buttress but many losers…

Prizes are as follows:

Elite (mixed category, over 18s only)

King and Queen of the Buttress – Prize TBC

Have a go Hero (over 18, separate categories for male and female entrants)

1st – set of hydraulic disc brakes, donated by Orange bikes
2nd – set of Hope front and rear quick release skewers
3rd – Singletrack goodie bag

Under 18s (mixed)

1st – Hope light
2nd – set of Hope front and rear quick release skewers
3rd – Singletrack goodie bag

Plus spot prizes for Best Gurn, Best Wheelie, Noisiest Heckle, etc. from Yorkshire Tea, a local beer supplier and lots and lots of chamois cream!

Entries are just £10 and available here.

The event starts at 1pm and all riders need to register their category before the start, so please make sure you arrive in plenty of time to sign on.

Coming to spectate? Be ready to make some noise!

Go on my son! HAVE IT!
