2012 marks a very special year for the Totally Local award winning Blazing Saddles of Hebden Bridge, and the staff at the Pennine cycle shop plan to party.

It’s been 18 years since Blazing Saddles first swung its doors open in the sleepy village of Barrowford, Lancashire and 10 years since the move to Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.

A full programme of locally themed events have been planned to make the 29th of April a day to remember.

Local bike creators Orange are bringing their full line up of demo bikes, a small charge of £10 per ride will be made which will then awarded to the local mountain rescue.

Local biking personalities will also be present including a chance to meet and ride with the extraordinary Mr Ed Oxley, famous for his skills tuition and local guiding knowledge.

Ed Oxley is on hand to guide you through the tough times

Also present will be the no less extraordinary Mr Brant Richards. The prolific, maverick bike designer will be bringing some of his latest creations to drool over.

Also does levitation workshops

Continuing with the local theme Singletrack magazine will be there to drink Yorkshire tea and munch birthday cake made by Amber’s fair hand from Copa house, just a few doors down.

There’s to be a fastest tyre change in the west (Yorkshire) competition, with prizes for everyone. Teva of sticky soled shoe fame will be there and will have shoes to demo. The shop is also going to have a massive sale with some very special pricing on the day. For more information regarding the celebrations go to www.blazingsaddles.co.uk.

Also as part of the days celebrations, Mills CC have organised two road rides for the day. The 11am ride is for Women only, for the 2pm ride both Men and Women are welcome.”
