Rollapaluza attract major stars

The past week seen the Rollapaluza brand attract some major sports stars to recent events.

On Thursday Rollapaluza were at the fund-raising launch party for the Dallaglio Cycle Slam (http://www.dallagliocycleslam.com/)  a marathon 2800km bike ride linking all the Stadia of the 6 Nations rugby tournament together which Lawrence Dallaglio will be undertaking for charity.

Lawrence challenged former Premiership and England football star Les Ferdinand to a 500m Rollapaluza race to the delight of the cheering crowds. Lawrence looked powerful on the bike but was no match for soccer star Les who set a very fast time of 22.35 seconds or 50.3 mph to Lawrence’s 25.62s or 44mph.

However the big news for cycling fans came the previous night in South London as the Rollapaluza winter league was in full swing. 200 people packed the small venue for some intense Rollapaluza action when none other than Mark Cavendish, the fastest sprinter in the world, casually walked in to take his place in the audience.

Mark, who was in London for a photo shoot, managed to secure himself a ring-side seat and soaked up the atmosphere of the knockout rounds. He watched the London sprint talent intently for more than two hours before slipping away, shaking hands, having his picture taken and chatting to stunned competitors and spectators as he left.

Rollapaluza have a packed program in 2010, with their next event in Cambridge on Friday 12th February. The UK courier championships will continue on the 19th February in London with the next round of the National series to be held in Southampton on Sunday 28th Feb.
