    Hi

    Can anyone recommend a good budget workshop stand please.

    When you say workshop stand do you mean as in suitable to use in a proper bike workshop – a stand that bolts to the floor

    Or a repair stand like this which I hear is very good.

    I've got one of these which takes up less space and has a 'proper' clamp but drawback is that it does not fold up like the PCS9. Mine was only about £150 though, so guess the strong dollar has pushed the price up.

    Yes I mean a repair stand. Still probably out of budget, but thanks for the info 🙂

    I have one like this;

    Seems to be a generic make sold under different names at various retailers. Mine is labelled Biketool by Union and is a few years old and still going strong.

    Nice one chaps, they look like the same model, and good price from Edinburgh cycles. 🙂 out of interest what sort of weight bikes are you putting on them… one of mine is heavy!

    I have the same one as Coleman & pendlechris.

    They are often re-branded and I got mine for about £50-55 from Wiggle or CRC.

    Used it for many builds over the years, and it is very very sturdy.

    Ability to fold-up is a big thumbs-up.

    Jim – my bikes are quite light, between 18 to 23lbs, but I can't see weight being an issue if you get the balance point right.
