  • Whyte 19 replacement headset bearings?

    Hi

I confess to knowing nothing about integrated or semi integrated headsets.

Does anyone know what I need to buy in the way of replacement bearings for this frame. LBS says they will cost about £30 from the distributor, but surely all I need is a couple of cartridge bearings no?

Hi, my Whyte 19 had a normal 1 1/8th headset…it depends what type/make you have, it maybe cheaper to replace everything !

As Micktvr says- it should be a normal 1 1/8th external type. I could be wrong but I’d be surprised. Mine came with Cane Creek. Your’s could be different. A photo would help more than a thousand words!

#Edit – assumining its alu – I’ve no idea whatsoever about carbon

£30 is about right for headset bearings, they are bit differnt to normal cartridge bearings as they got a “angle” on the inside and outside of the bearing race and of course to make it easy there are diff angles for dif headsets out there!
