Why this bike?
I’m lucky enough to live within riding distance of MeteorWorks and I’ve always fancied having a frame made for me. My existing singlespeed was getting a bit long in the tooth, and my mum left me some money so I decided to go for it. I took that singlespeed, a Sanderson Soloist 853, and my hardtail, a Cannondale Scalpel HT into the shop, and had a conversation with Lee, the builder. I wanted the character of the Sanderson, the handling of the Scalpel, belt drive, carbon fork, able to take a Rohloff when I get too old for SS (I’m 66), and this is what Lee came up with.
It’s perfect, everything I’d hoped for and lighter than I expected. It has all the braze-ons and cable routing if I want to go Rohloff later, and the Paragon dropouts are swappable for Rohloff specific ones.
