My standard cassette lock-ring tool is not deep enough to get at the lock-ring for the rotor. Stripping out the axle would solve the problem but seems a bit drastic. What tool is there that I can use?

I think the icetoolz one should reach far enough

I've got a park one that fits and one out of a cheap Lidl bike kit that fits. Neither have the inner pin as I use a QR skewer to clamp it to the wheel and then use a socket on a wrench over the tool.
Saves you slipping and damaging the teeth and you can get good torque on it.

Does your lockring have notches on the outside as well? There are some that do that you can use a TL-FC32 to remove, especially on 15 and 20mm axle hubs.

I had a cheap cassette tool and had to buy a proper Shimano cassette tool to remove my lock rings, the tool is a very good quality but it is really annoying.

LBS only had a Cyclo tool in stock and I neglected to take the wheel in so will have to revisit and see what they have in the workshop.

The shimano one is a bit pricey but very well made.
