Just thinking of heading up there tonight for a jaunt. Has anyone been up there since the fires. Whereabouts has been fire damaged? IS everywhere accessable?
I was at Rivi on the day of the fire, far as I am aware the fire was north of belmont so I don't think that rivi got hit
I don't think Rivi was hit. The fire was on the moors around great hill. Lot's of black patches on the moors but I don't think anywhere is closed off, although I haven't really been up there that much with my bad knee. Looking out of my window, it looks like the fire engines have gone though, and it's tipping it down...
As above. All the fire damage was on Great Hill, from the Abbey Village to Belmont road, & westwards down to Anglezarke reservoir. Was up there last Weds afternoon, & only when you're on the top of Great Hill can you see the sheer scale of the devastation.
EDIT: Top of Great Hill looking west.

Thanks all for the replies. Looks like the route I was planning will be do-able
Have you purchased your access pass from lowey? I'll be lying in wait to check.
Wors I have 'Bolton' printed on my passport as place of Birth so I'm allowed.... Binners however......
I heard it was started by people who lowey had knocked back from riding on his land.
Its rumored it was started by Lowey repelling invaders by pouring boiling oil, medieval stylee, on them from the Pigeon Tower, then launching flaming cattle carcasses at the fleeing hordes from an enormous catapult
