I’ve got an old steel frame that needs stripping back to bare metal to make one of the raddest retro projects yet.

Any advice on materials and methods greatly appreciated.

just bog standard nitromors should do the trick – wrap the frame in muslin, soak in nitromors and leave for an hour or so. Then brush off with a good stiff hand step brush.

never ehard of the muslin trick, but nitromors removes most paints, wire wool or a stiff brush to lift it off. Get the stickers off frst to make life earier.

IIRC caustic soda will strip paint just as well, if not better, but not 100% sure how it reacts with bazing or other fittings.
