Doing a turn in the road when you cannot see far enough as you clearly did is stupid and wrong
did no-one read the 'he had a crap bike anyway' bit?
having a crap bike removes any rights you have to anything, ever.
.
on a serious note, there are two things lacking on the road - courtesy and patience.
in my opinion, you did no wrong - the cyclist should have just been a little patient.
Should've jumped out of the car & shouted at him to get "off the effin road as you lot don't pay road tax!!!!"........
( As one tosser in his 2ton steel safety cage did to me a few weeks ago )
You did a 3 point turn in a place where you could not adequately assess the traffic.
You obstructed a vehicle who was proceeding along that road.
You have only just passed your test and seem to be assuming you are in the right.
You then came to moan about it here to flaunt your righteous anger.
Why not chill, consider the possibility that you were wrong, as most of us are from time to time, and learn.
There is a reason that young male drivers have such high insurance premiums. They drive like idiots. I know, I was one.

so you blocked the road, forced him to brake and swerve round you and you wonder why he objected.
I fear my explanation would be wasted on you.

It makes you sound like you live in a council house.
what's wrong with living in a council house?

what's wrong with living in a shed?
If you want to look at it another way, that'd be a 100% stone cold major fault on a driving test, do not pass go, do not collect driving licence.
Northwind ::: 'do not pass go' 'do not collect 200 pounds' 'go straight to jail' then hahahah
Nah, he'd only have got the jail if he'd obstructed traffic shortly after a riot
Wasn't there so I can't comment on the incident itself. What I do know is that I have far more people deciding to pull a 3 point turn in front of me & forcing me to stop when I'm on a bike than I do when I am in a car.

Could you try to avoid using this phrase please ? It makes you sound like you live in a council house.
And that makes you sound like a complete and utter knob.
Chris - at the risk of adding a sensible comment to this forum, it sounds like this guy was moving a bit quick, and he wasn't there when you started to pull out. fair enough, I'm with you so far. Once you realised he was coming though best just to pull back in and get out of the way. It doesn't matter who is right or wrong, if you can lessen the chances of an accident then it's up to you to do that
Chris,
whether it was your fault or the cyclists fault, you'll get flamed on here regardless, but the best piece of advice I can give you is to examine what you did, and ask whether you could have prevented it, for instance by choosing a different place to do a 3 point turn, or even not doing a 3 point turn in the road - was there a gateway or anything you could have used to turn round without blocking the road?
It's often not about who's at fault, but about what you can do to avoid an incident. Unfortunately this comes with experience, which you'll get over the coming years (sorry if this sounds patronising, but I am teaching my youngest to drive at the moment, and it's surprising how different his attitude is to mine, even though I have a bit more experience than him....)
yeh but nosedive, when i saw him coming i stopped and he was still miles up the hill until he got closer to me and sounded his brakes to show annoyance, i left room so he could go around me and shout nob ed! lol so therefor what an ars xD
Clearly the rider did not possess adequate levels of radness. I'd have simply 360 bunnyhopped the car.
id love to see that lol
