I love these 1930s art-deco styled trams. Never been bettered IMHO. Pure class!

They might be what we need to use for Edinburgh as I don't think they will have any money left to buy new ones, 70% of the 500 million spent 30% of the work done !
The Blackpool ones are the Routemasters of the Tram world, surely?
The only trams I've ever bin on were in Amsterdam and Melbourne.
Melbourne has some cool old fashioned ones, and I think there are restaurant ones too.

Don't remember the Amsterdam ones being any more exciting than a modern bus.
Mind you, to be fair, I don't remember much about Amsterdam in general really.
Prefer the modern functionality of the TTC streetcars in Toronto.
Do the tax deal at the National Tram Museum at Crich when you pay and your ticket is valid for 12 months - keeps my kids happy for days at a time, easy day out for the family (if you are local)
They were appealing for volunteer conductors a while back as well - after a season as a conductor I think you get a chance to try driving them......
I used to love the ticket machines with hundreds of different coloured buttons on them. All those buttons! What did they do?
Like this but x10..

If you have a pic of one like I'm talking about, let's see it!
I want need one of these, off a Routemaster when I was a kid. The bloke would turn the wheel to what ticket was needed, then wind the handle and it would print out a ticket and one on an internal reel.
Oh yeah, light rail and stuff:

DLR innit??! Docklands Light Railway. I've bin using this system for over 23 years now. Went on it the second day it was ever open. Which was also the day I smoked me fist spliff!
Was on it today even; went to Greenwich to buy a pressie for someone.
I think I've just discovered a new thing I will own when I win the lottery! It will sit next to my solid gold medieval Arabian astrolabe.
