Stoner has made a good suggestion which got me thinking. I eventually found a Cisco serial cable which if folded up twice and a small knot at the back, fits perfectly.

I just need a gender bender now.

    my list and solutions include:
    – shoes = walk around in socks
    – belt = buy new one
    – cufflinks = paperclips or roll up sleeves
    – two left shoes = walk funny
    – towel = use paper towels
    – toiletries = use hand soap as shower gel, shampoo, hair gel and toothpaste
    – laptop = do no work that day

Forgetting socks is a right pain. At the time I cycled to work in trainers with no socks on (scummy student at the time) and had to spend the start of the day walking around in smart shoes and no socks until I got a to nip out for some socks. I worked in Currys at the time, so lots of customers and lots of walking around the shop floor. 😳

Ever since, I’ve always left a spare couple of pairs in my locker.

I’d definitely not recommend forgetting the keys for your bike lock too. 🙁

    – (under)pants = go commando
    – shirt = buy a new one (I’ve had to do that before)

it appears most of you have forgotten your cars 😯

all these spares could be kept in your car instead of taking up space at work, silly people! 🙄

What you need (speaking from experience) are treasury tags:

Also never underestimate the stupidity of a driver!

I had a blast at lunchtime and riding back to the office I pulled alongside a car made eye contact with the driver through the passenger window and 5 seconds later as the road turns left he pulls in so tight he almost hit the curb, luckily I had backed off slightly.

I usually go for the more subtle appraoch of taking the motorbike in but forgetting my work shoes, so I end up wearing a fetching combo of suit, tie and Sidis with big white ceramic toe protectors.

Have also left my keys in the door, but went back to retrieve them. Much worse was leaving the factory keys and my alarm fob at home one Saturday. Knowing that 3 departments are waiting outside a locked building adds motivation 🙂

Tricky where I am now. We only have these, and they’re in full view of the door:
