“Just been for a spin around Norwood and noiticed some Unauthorised building, this is located above the fire road just above and leading in to the ladder drop.
I am not against building and good on you if you are keen enougth to have a go BUT there are rules we have to follow, we have been in negotiation with FE for several years about Norwood trails and have an agreement on what and where we can build which is very specific. If you absolutley must build in Norwood please get in touch and we can arrange for the clearing and building to take place in a suitable and useful location for you and us.
Take the current new unoficial bit of trail, although it looks fun, the builders are wasting theirs and our time and annoying the FE ranger and us, because firstly it fires across a fire road which is also a public footpath, this would need a choke to slow riders down (this could be added), and secondly and more importantly it runs right through a badger set!! (PROTECTED BY LAW!!) This is very serious and area we have been avoiding at the request of FE hence the marker tape.
PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE TO BUILD HERE, it will really pi** FE off and us, the current new bit will have to be flattened – we absolutely have no choice due to the Badger set. There is a line marked out down the same section which avoids the set.
Please do not build without permission, get in touch we need the help but in the right places and we don’t need the hassle of wasting our limited building time sorting this sort of stuff out. If you are responsible please do the right thing and flatten the new bit for us to save us the work, then get in touch and i will show you where you can build.”
Clearly a sensitive issue. This building could jeopordise any future trails at Stainburn which would be a real shame. If you are aware of who is building here, then please forward this on. Anybody with access to other DH orientated forums, we would appreciate if you could mention this.
Thanks.
