I notice on the OS map a track labelled 'Sheffield Country Walk' which runs beneath Burbage Rocks between Upper Burbage Bridge and Burbage Bridge.
    Is this strictly a footpath?

I have also seen, some months ago, a cyclist getting to the top of Stanage Edge by way of the footpath from Upper Burbage Bridge and Cowper Stone, obviously a cheeky trail but does it cause friction?

While the track down the Burbage valley would make a very handy piece of trail to use as a link, it is very much a footpath, and because of the popularity of the crags around there, it's often got rangers and the like around the area. So, in general it's not a good idea to be riding it…

It's pretty much the same for the route along the top of Stanage from Burbage as well…

there is much confusion in that area as its open access land and some people take that as open to cyclists.
