I’m a bit late to the party, having only found this thread after starting that one above.
I’ve had a vague idea about getting a fat bike for a long time, but it was only when I had a test ride on a Surly 29+ at Tide to Tide that I started seriously looking, that’s when I found the Rooster Kickstarter page.
Anyway, subject to buying Riddoch’s pledge of him, I’m in. I like yellow.
In my defense, I still think the rooster is a going to be grand but I have reached s-1 and I love my puffin too much to move it on.
If anyone is interested in a wheel set give me a shout.
Does anyone know about the modular cable guides mentioned on the kickstarter page?
Shand Cycles mention them as an option on their frames as well, but neither Singular or Shand list them on their web site.
Does the frame come with a selection and I just use the ones I need, or do I need to order them separately?
I’ll be running a Rohloff, so I only need guides for two cables and a hose to the left hand chainstay.
Thanks Sam, they certainly look a neat solution.
How do I make sure I get the right ones?
I don’t know exactly how many holes there are on the frame yet and I can’t see an option to order them either with the frame or as a separate item.
Apart from the one nearest the headtube, there isn’t much room to get a normal Allen key in. On the others you can just keep rotating but on that one you have to keep taking the key out.
Hi
can anyone tell me exactly what size headset I need for the rooster?
is it an external 1 1/8 – 1 1/2? or something else?
would like to fit a Chris King but would consider Hope or Cane Creek.
Any info. gratefully received.
Thanks.
I’m starting to accumulate parts for my build.
Does anyone know if the forks will be post or IS mount, I can’t make it out in any of the pictures.
Do I need a Hope F or H mount for a 180mm disc?
I’m assuming the rear is IS mount. I hope so anyway, as I’ve already bought a 160mm Monkeybone for the Rohloff.
