    hi all just been looking at the rockshox instructions for removing oil seals in my lyriks, has anyone done this before? any hints or tips on whats best to do without the seal removal tool?

    Some rubber to protect the lowers, and a BFO flat bladed screwdriver. Just don’t scratch in the inside of the fork with it.

    Put the new seals in the freezer before you install them, will prevent you from swearing lots!

    20mm open ended spanner with something to protect upper edge of lowers and work round the lower seal edge 😉

    its probably too late but the original dust seals seems like the ideal thing to protect the upper edge of the lowers, in other words start on removing (at least loosening) the oil seals first with the dust seals still in place.

    Fox agree with loco on using a wrench, less likely to scour the inside of the leg than if you use a screwdriver.

    I used a Pedros DH tyre lever to good effect, nice round flat end and lots of leverage.
