Looking for a search tool that I can put paths to several server locations in.
Eg: need to find a file, means I have to browse to, & search, up to 5-6 different locations. Is there a tool that I can put all the locations in & have it search each location automatically ?
Cheers.

"Agent Ransack" is worth a look..(you can save criteria including multiple directories)

Show me what you're entering in the search location box
To save searches:
Let search complete.
File>save searchThis saves the criteria as a shortcut to wherever you like. just double click the icon to open the search box again with the same criteria specified.

I suspect that ck's approach may need you to have mapped the drives to letters first. I'm only guessing though.

Yep, sorry, it does require mapping but that's quick and "permanent" once done.

Eg:-
\\xxxxxxxx6\cad\library; \\xxxxxx1\tech\DWG\Product\Actuators[quote]maybe geoffj is right, & they need to be mapped drives.

Yup, geoff is correct, I'd forgotten windows search wasn't UNC compatible; map them all to drives each (with reconnect at logon) and then just enter the drive letters "c:\;d:\" etc. Then do the file-save search and save it to your desktop or wherever for future rapid searches.
