    With all this talk of fork servicing and how often people do their’s, I got paranoid and so stripped down my forks to inspect the upper legs normally below the seal, this is what I found:

    MOD: Image removed due to malware

    I’ve had these since new, they came on my Genesis Abyss 2009 and this is the first time I’ve stripped them. Quite chuffed I am 😀 Even the foam rings are nicely lubed, these I will clean and re-oil. Not sure wether to bother changing the damper oil.

    I must confess, I would have cleaned the rest of the bike first. Those forks are more likely to have dirt in them after reassembly than they had in before !

    Do it with the bike upside down and dirt falls away, and not in…
