"London's Heathrow Airport has been voted the worst airport in the world for the second year running in a poll of 14,500 frequent fliers while
Singapore's Changi was again ranked as the best. "

    here

I flew through LHR 12 times in the last 13 months at it really is a pretty grotty airport. I found CDG clean, spacious and well designed – but ironically AF hgave the dirtiest planes in the world. LOL

Which terminal(s) at Heathrow are you using?

And it's a good job CDG is clean as it's good to have somewhere nice to be when your baggage can easily take over an hour to arrive.

Reminds me of the Daily Mash story:

HUDSON CRASH LANDING STILL BETTER THAN HEATHROW

Have to say I quite like T5 – much better than T4.

1, 2 and 3 are just 20 years out of date and horrible. T4 is not too bad. T5 is about the best terminal I have used anywhere, with some minus points for the security queues. Apart from the terminals, LHR gets a very poor rating because of the inevitable delays that come with 98% runway usage

Paris CDG T1 is the worst on the planet, 2a/b/c/d about on par with Heathrow T1. Only the Air France 2e/f bit is fine. Trouble is that Air France is only just behind Ryanair in quality of service

Never had any problems with Air France, but then, most of my flying is with US carriers and their service is hardly fantastic.

I think that Gatwick is worse than Heathrow but then I mainly fly out of T5 at Heathrow. Worst airports I think are Paris CDG, Tripoli and Aberdeen but then my view of Aberdeen airport is slightly marred by having to spend 8 hours there when they shut the airport because of snow last year.

I despise Air France and CDG with a passion.

T5 for me, superb place. The BA lounge is a top spot to relax before a flight.

However, I have to say that the lounge at Seattle Tacoma has a stunning view out towards the mountains. Good range of single malts as well, which was nice.

T3 is just a horror show.

    Maybe is the cliental!!!
I hate it, its worst part of any journey.

Cattle are treated better when going through immigration. Do many cows travel??

CFH agree with you about the BA lounges at T5, but Seattle is a bit cramped. Never seen the mountains – always been dark when I've been in there.

Absolutely the worst I've experienced was Sana'a in Yemen. Horrible place but worse was that if someone set off the scanner when they went through, the security guard would give them one tap around the waist and let them through.

CM, for Seattle you just need to pick your flight carefully! My last trip there was lovely and quiet. Only problem, IMO, is having to go and ask for your beer! Can't have those under 21s helping themselves to an Alaskan Amber, can we? 😉

Probably won't get to try it again as it looks like my travelling days are over.

Always thought that the biggest lounge irony was that the worst place for both food and drink was CDG

Can't stand CdG – complete design disaster makes it like battling your way along oxford street to get to check in desks.

LHR T5 – massively spacious check in area. Well signed bus stops (unlike Frankfurt). No security queue for me (well only 2 people in front). Baggage arrived on the carousel just as I got there and I didn't hesitate getting there either (compare that with Schiphol which will be a 20min walk and then another 20-40min wait at the carousel).

I always found heathrow alright and was quite disappointed when other airports were taken away from BAA as considering how many flights come in and out they are superb.

Suvarnabhumi in bangkok is nice where as don mueang also in bangkok is like some communist relic.

    Another airport to praise from me;

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International in Mauritius.

As we strolled in to the arrivals hall, we saw a row of empty passport desks. By the time we had reached them, they were all full of superbly efficient, friendly staff! Never seen anything so well organised! A full flight was through in minutes, baggage was already on the carousel when we got there. Marvellous.

Also, SSR has the best toilets I have seen in any airport!

    Tails.

I liked Don Mueang it had character, at least you could get a taxi and not be forced in to hiring one from one of Thaksins crooks like Suvarnabhumi.

I quite liked Tan son Nhat in Vietnam, liked the old gun emplacements as a warm welcome, then on to the commie immigration officers with big hats.

By character nimrod means nothing they had one burger king and half a book shop, still very different. When I visit thaskin has already been ousted, so guess it was jiva's cronies.

On the latest installment of "Airport Porn" LA X is shite.
