Looking for a new backpack and seriously thinking of one of these
and wondering in the world of mountain biking if anyone else
useis one!

Yeah, I have last years version of that pack and love it. A mate has it at the moment out at the Mega as it has the spine protector thing which is great in the alps.

Cheers Utangvegas regarding last years model is it really 350mm wide.
and does it look wide on your back?
is it comfortable and can you get your weatherproof jacket.the new 2011 version is 275mm wide on the back.

I got one recently, it's bigger than I thought it would be, quite long, I got the M/L and it's 57cm long and 27cm wide although this makes it more low profile on your back rather than sticking out a lot like another pack I have that is the same capacity but shorter, I'm about 5'10" and think the small would be fine too. Very nicely made bit of kit, expensive, but I'm off to the alps soon so thought it would be good with the back protector and big enough to carry pads etc and all-day kit. Plenty of space and pockets everywhwere to stow stuff, compression straps and a built in rain cover, well designed. Used it on a local loop and just compressed it down and used it on a 20mile off road commute where I've had to carry complete change of clothes, towel, etc, very comfortable. The waist belt has a kind of gripping material on it and is done up using velcro and buckle, feels very secure.

Cheers Kojaklollipop Yep I bought one and see what you mean but feels better
supported and comfortable than any of my past Camelbak packs.
Has you say expensive But you can see where the costs have gone on
You could go for a size smaller but you need the correct size for the spine protector to work.Posted 10 months ago # -

I have one, I found them wayv too big and uncomfortable so I chose the Small size, perfect for me at 5 foot 10. For generall riding i pull the back protector out as there is not enough flexibility. To be honest the protector is not needed if you have abladder of water as that is far more shock absorbing..
Overall a great well made pack with loads of pockets and storage..
