Can't remember the name, but the Chinese restaurant we went to a month or so ago was pretty good...
(Google Maps says it was the Lotus. Now I know)

Been to the Mexican or the Thai?

Yeh, if you go to the Thai, go on a Sunday eve. All you can eat buffet for about a £10. Nice food too.
I'd say the best Indian is the British Raj.
Best Chinese is the Jade Fountain but the Lotus is alrite too and cheaper.
Rose and Crown is pretty good for pub food
Chippy Bank is the winner with fish and chips though.Posted 9 months ago # -
The Thai is pretty nice take away portions are cheaper and bigger and the guys a bit grumpy, the Mexican is ok but better if u like chilli vodka and the naaz is the best Indian other than that the Rose n crown or farmers for very decent pub food

I went to a mexican there about 8 years ago I haven't rushed back!
BUT that was 8 years agoPosted 9 months ago # -
Jade fountain is well nice lotus is average to poor but cheaper and rajj is good if u want to play whack a rat (it's not the prettiest place but I've never been I'll and usually choose it over the naaz but if u want a classy place avoid it)
Sorry for any typos having a poo in France and browsing on the iPhone haha

Just been done out. Good food and good beer.
Jade fountain is good for Chinese. Rose and Crown and the Farmers Arms is good for pub food. Biiiig portions as well. Thai is ok, British Raj is a bit grimy tbh, Naaz is where I'd go for a curry.
But the fish and chips at the Chippy Bank are good.
Dammit, hungry now !

No lack of choice in Ulverston!
I'd say Taste of Balti for the best quality Indian food, Stan Laurel pub has some great 2 for 1 offers mid week and good food. Also can't go too far wrong with Rose & Crown or The Farmers.

The Bay Horse at Canal Foot is very good, home made bread and terrines are particularly good. Cracking view of the estuary to boot.

The Brown Cow at Dalton used to be good - close to the bright lights of Barrow too!
