can anyone recommend a chain tensioner for a jump/4x style bike with vertical drop-outs? I’m really stuck.

I’ve tried an on-one doofer, and a DMR STS, but they weren’t keeping the chain in sufficient tension.

    thank you! 😀

These are the best in my opinion http://superstar.tibolts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=58&products_id=269

You need to shorten the chain enough so that they push the chain upwards, this may involve using a half link.

As above, a push-up style tensioner may be the best solution. It does make it harder to remove the rear wheel, but it’s a small price to pay

mmm, thanks for the advice. I’ll have another look at an STS-type tensioner. I didn#t realise that the chain should be going upwards, a bit… 8O.

    thanks again
