Say hello to my lil frenโ. The lil frenโ in question being this weekโs FGF! Absolutely the greatest thing ever in the world of all time.
Right. Thatโs enough hype for the intro. Letโs just flipping get on with the shoe, hey? As Master M. McConaughey would say โalright, alright, alrightโฆโ

Fair Drop Best UC M6
- Price: ยฃ108.70
- From: Fair Bicycle

You gotta love a product that has a name that gives no real clue as to WTF is actually is/does. This is the Drop Best replacement saddle clamp from Fair. Youโve heard of layback seatposts. This is essentially a layforward seatpost conversion kit. As you can see in the final pic, it places your saddle clamping area significantly further forward. And speaking as someone who has ridden โnuff great-apart-from-the-seat-angle mountain bikes over the years, Iโm very much here for it. Whether youโre looking to improve an older bike (such as the Santa Cruz Hightower featured in our Mountainbike Makeover project) or rectify a modern MTB with a retro seat angle (Specialized spring to mind) then this could be the (drop) best thing ever. Fair makes different variations for different brand droppers. This UC M6 one will fit the type of OneUp and PNW droppers that are our typical go-to droppers.
Bell 5Fifty Spherical Helmet
- Price: ยฃ229.99
- From: Bell Helmets

This spankingly fresh Bell 5Fifty lid features the helmet-in-helmet articulating ball-and-socket stylee Spherical technology. Yes, much like the Giro Montaro Pro we featured in last weekโs FGF. If history tells us anything, itโs that people either have a Giro-shaped head or a Bell shaped head. Okay, that may be slightly oversimplifying things but needless to say, if you like the sound of Giro lid tech but donโt like the way they feel on your head, try a Bell. Itโs kinda nice how Bell helmets have a very different (angular) style compared to Giroโs (Stay Puft) aesthetic too. This Bell 5Fifty is tech-laden. Sweat Guide pad design pulls moisture away from the brow pad and away from eyewear. Float Race Fit offers three-way adjustability: height, pad width, and tension. Dual Flow Ventilation claims to draw cool air into the intake ports and circulates it through a โmatrix of air channelsโ. Love a matrix. Ionic+ Antimicrobial quick-drying interior paddings. Fidlock buckle. 3 position visor.
DEKO Power Rotary Tool Kit 170W/220V (Pink)
- Price: ยฃ27.99
- From: Amazon

Yet another slight impulse acquisition of a budget powertool that will no doubt remind me eventually that cheap tools are ultimately a very expensive (mis)purchase. But here we are. Iโve got hold of this Power Ranger Pink pseudo-Dremel to initially help with a similarly ill-advised plan to machine-down a 30T chainring so as to fit it on a SRAM OChain R (due to bit of a bulge, OChains donโt quite fit into chainrings smaller than 32T). This FGF item tells you two things: firstly, I am a rash idiot and secondly, I really love my OChain. Review coming soon!
Early Rider Hellion X24
- Price: ยฃTBC
- From: Early Rider
Spotted at last weekendโs Malverns Classic amidst the mass of shiny retro bikes and matt carbon ebikes was the little corker of a bike. Itโs the latest version of the full-suspension Hellion from kids bike brand Early Rider. Whatโs good about it? Well, it kinda reminds me of my favourite bike. Single pivot but chosen because it offers low progression rate, good pedal response and affords a low standover frame. Thereโs decent dropper insertion. And the suspension units are genuinely designed to work with lower weight riders and at low PSI (circa 50psi for sub 50kg riders). Short-as-feasible cage rear mech. Good brakes. Good tyres. Easily my favourite bike from the Malverns.
Megamo bottle
- Price: N/A
- From: Megamo

Just a nicely designed water bottle. The accent colour is more purple in the real world than this pic suggests. Although I have marked it down a point because it made me realise that 1987 is very nearly 40 years ago now.
SeekRun Wireless Dropper Posts
- Price: ยฃTBC
- From: SeekRun

Another quick spot from the Malvern Classic. This was spotted on the Velduro stand as itโs a brand that the same distributor will be bringing into the UK. Basically itโs a more affordable wireless dropper post. Say what you will about wireless dropper posts, I think we can all agree that theyโre significantly more expensive than cable actuated ones and โ more importantly โ they can be a very good idea on eMTBs due to the issues that cabling can run into (literally) when having to pass through all the complicated twisty guts of an eMTB internals.
Godfatherโs Garage High Performance OGW Powder Bike Wash
- Price: ยฃ8.99 (40g)
- From: Marshes Parts

Initially I thought these sachets were Wade Simmonsโ ashes. But then I happily remembered that not only is Wade Simmons still alive, he is actually very probably immortal. Godfatherโs Garage is a brand that has Mr Simmons as a figurehead (he is easily the best freerider of all time by the way). And this is a sachet of powered cleaner for mountain bikes.
Godfatherโs Garage High Signature Bottle 1L
- Price: ยฃ17.99
- From: Marshes Parts

And this is for putting the aforementioned bike cleaning product into, so you can spray it all over your pride and joy (your bike). Would a cheap spray bottle from a garden centre do the trick? Undoubtedly. But if you just want a nice aluminium foaming spray bottle instead, goferrit. Here it is.
Godfatherโs Garage Tubeless Tire Plugs
- Price: ยฃ15.99
- From: Marshes Parts

Yet another item I initially misidentified at first. This is not a tin of Altoids. Or liquorice imps. Itโs a cute little snap tin of tubeless tyre plugs. There are two sizes of bacon strip: 15 small, 5 medium. And most importantly of all, it bears Wade Simmonsโ timeless advice: โPLUG IT. SEND IT.โ As you wish, Godfather.
Godfatherโs Garage Dry Lube
- Price: ยฃ14.99 (120ml)
- From: Marshes Parts

This is why the rain came back. Sorry. This dry lube features a โspecifically formulated, long-lasting lubricant designed to keep your drivetrain clean by repelling airborne dust rather than attracting them. Itโs less viscous than our Wet Chain Lube, but remains tenacious enough to grip your links through the dog days of summer.โ
STW in a Galaxy Far, Far Away T-shirt
- Price: ยฃ22.50
- From: The Singletrack Shop

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far awayโฆ we had this shirt in our shop. A recently rediscovered design, slightly updated for 2026. The original trilogy was the best. Although we all know Rogue One is the true standout. Hush now.

I’m not sure I can see much use for the Fair Drop Best UC M6. It seems very unusual to find a bike with a slack seat tube and decent reach. Just pushing the seat further forward won’t help at all when descending and will make it feel even more cramped when riding in the saddle.
